Perhaps it’s due to our persistent addiction with the bean and all it represents: rich odors, heat and a blast of energy. Many of us recall exotic coffee shops and the associations of cookies and pastries….crumbs scattered.

Whatever the reason, don’t we love the richly tattered textures of wood, leather and stains? Especially coffee stains! Textures that are human—uneven, a little raw—draw us in the same way as the voice of a Bonnie Raitt or Joe Cocker. The popularity of textured designs, embroidered with the flawed and interesting, affirm the universality of appeal.
